Description
It may be helpful to lower estrogen levels when there is a risk of tumor growth in the breasts. Postmenopausal women may suffer from the unnatural growth of certain types of tumors. Unwanted pellets can be reduced by Arimidex, a steroid used as a drug for postmenstrual cancer.
Arimidex is the marketable drug of Anastrozole. This tablet consists essentially of the aromatase inhibitor, a non-steroidal ingredient. This steroid is soluble in water, methanol, acetone and acetonitrile. These inactive components are lactose, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycollate and titanium dioxide.
Measures and dosage
Patients with history of heart disease or stroke, live problems, high cholesterol levels and osteoporosis should consult with physicians before taking this medicine. Breast feeding during administering Arimidex is prohibited. This medicine should be taken once every day or as directed by the physician. One may stay on Arimidex medication for up to 5 years.
Side effects or negative impacts
Shortness of breath, bone fracture (due to osteoporosis), swollen glands as well as liver problems are common side effects of Arimidex medicine. People may even experience nausea, vomiting, heart ache or light headedness as common side effects. However, if the patients notice dark urine and dark colored feces then it would be better to consult the physician without wasting time. All these problems occur due to a controlled or lower estrogen level. The less estrogen reaches to bone-cells, the more chances or bone fractures and other problems grow. Mood changes may also be noticed among the women due to the hormonal imbalance. Sometimes patients may experience new lumps in breasts. This sort of problem should be discussed with the doctor to get faster and better treatment. One important fact must be mentioned here, that if any patient accidentally takes an overdose, the case should be treated as an emergency.
